Mon Avis : La lecture du premier tome de ce cycle, The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, m’avait laissé un sentiment mitigé se révélant trop optimiste et surtout trop convenu à mon goût, même s’il reste sympathique à lire (ma chronique ici). Je me suis tout de même lancer dans la lecture de ce second tome pour savoir ce qu’allait bien proposer l’auteur et surtout me permettre de voter en toute connaissance de cause au prix Hugo. Concernant l’illustration de la couverture, on reste dans le même style que celle du premier tome, que je trouve plutôt sympathique.

Mon Avis : Comme je l’ai annoncé il y a plusieurs mois maintenant, j’ai prévu d’aller à la WorldCon de cette année qui est prévue à Helsinki. La WorldCon, outre le fait que ce soit une grosse convention liée à l’imaginaire, est aussi l’endroit ou est désigné les gagnants des prix Hugo qui repose sur les votes. Pour résumé, si on prend un Pass pour aller à cette convention on a le droit de voter pour les différents. Sauf que pour bien voter pour un prix, il faut avoir lu tous les livres nominés. C’est mieux quand même. Voilà donc le défi que je me suis lancé, lire les 6 livres nominés au prix Hugo, mais aussi pour ne pas me sentir perdu, les tomes précédents quand il y en a. Ainsi The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet n’est pas directement nominé, mais il fait parti de la série Wayfarers dont le tome 2, lui, est nominé.
